Prodia the CRO was attending The 2025 APAC Health and Life Science Summit – Spotlight Indonesia which took place on June 3, 2025, at the prestigious Westin Hotel, marking a significant milestone as the first time ASK Health Asia organized this esteemed event in Indonesia. This summit served as a pivotal platform, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore Indonesia’s evolving policy landscape, regional regulatory and innovation partnerships, investment opportunities, and local collaboration models.
The event was inaugurated by the Ministry of Health, Chairman of BRIN, and Head of BPOM, setting the tone for a comprehensive discussion on the future of healthcare in Indonesia. In his opening remarks, the Minister of Health emphasized Indonesia’s pressing need for health innovation, particularly in addressing the country’s high healthcare costs, which pose a significant burden on its citizens. To mitigate this challenge, the Minister extended an invitation to Chinese investors to bring new technologies that could enhance accessibility, affordability, and innovative solutions for Indonesia’s life expectancy age, which often face limited healthcare funding.
One of the keynote speakers, Ibu Rizka Andalucia, Director General for Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices at the Ministry of Health, expressed her hope that the summit would yield meaningful collaborations on high-tech, cost-efficient devices. She highlighted the Ministry’s strategic approach to supporting a conducive ecosystem for research and collaboration, which encompasses three critical aspects: regulation, innovation, and clinical. By fostering an environment that encourages innovation and investment, the Ministry aims to drive progress in Indonesia’s healthcare sector.
In line with this vision, the government has issued regulations to accelerate the use of domestic products, providing opportunities for local manufacturing investments to enter the Indonesian market. This move is expected to not only stimulate economic growth but also enhance the country’s self-sufficiency in meeting its healthcare needs. Additionally, the government has announced various incentives to support local industries, further solidifying its commitment to developing a robust healthcare ecosystem.
Throughout the summit, participants engaged in lively discussions, sharing insights and expertise on various topics, including investment opportunities in Indonesia’s healthcare sector, regional regulatory frameworks, and innovative partnership models. The event provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to forge new partnerships, explore business opportunities, and contribute to shaping the future of healthcare in Indonesia.
As the summit concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and optimism, inspired by the potential for growth and innovation in Indonesia’s healthcare sector. With its strategic location, growing economy, and commitment to healthcare reform, Indonesia is poised to become a key player in the region’s healthcare landscape.
